Italy call upon the boot of Gert Peens

Italy coach John Kirwan has called up fullback Gert Peens into the starting team for Saturday’s 6 Nations match against England at Twickenham.

Italy has suffered from poor goal kicking during this year’s 6 Nations series. Coach Kirwan has come under intense criticism from the Italian media for the teams poor performance this year. And with matches against England and France remaining it seems likely that Italy will get the wooden spoon this year. Although Kirwan remain confidant and believes a win against England is possible.

Italy: Gert Peens; Kaine Robertson, Mirco Bergamasco, Andrea Masi, Ludovico Nitoglia; Luciano Orquera, Alessandro Troncon; Sergio Parisse, David Dal Maso, Aaron Persico, Marco Bortolami (captain), Carlo Antonio Del Fava, Salvatore Perugini, Fabio Ongaro, Andrea Lo Cicero.

Replacements: Giorgio Intoppa, Martin Castrogiovanni, Mario Savi, Santiago Dellape, Silvio Orlando, Paul Griffen, Matteo Barbini.

Down to rock bottom with panic attacks and anxiety which you, John Kirwan, suffered from. Desperately seeking to hear from you as to what cured you. This is desperation at its utmost. Thank you. Marie Foster
