The Highlanders 23 defeated the Bulls 0 in the opening match of round 3 of the 2005 Super 12.

The Highlanders played what was surely their best game of the year so far. They lead at half time 15-0 through tries to Nick Evans and Matt Saunders.

Although the Bulls had some promising attacking phases they were unable to get through the much improved Highlanders defence.
