The Sharks have recorded their first win of the season when they defeated the Brumbies 36-24 in a match in Durban on Saturday.

The Sharks recorded their first win under new coach Dick Muir. The previous coach Kevin Putt had been dumped mid-week following the team’s poor start to the season.

A son of former Springbok full-back Gysie Pienaar, Ruan Pienaar starred for the Sharks scoring two tries and kicking four conversions and a penalty.

Sharks - Tries: Ruan Pienaar (2), Jaco Gouws, Adi Jacobs, Warren Britz; Conversions: Pienaar (4). Penalty: Pienaar

Brumbies - Tries: Matt Giteau, Jeremy Paul, Radike Samo; Conversions: Giteau (3). Penalty: Giteau.
