Jone Tawake amputates finger
Brumbies loose forward, Jone Tawake, has had the ring finger on his right hand partially amputated in the hope of ensuring his selection for next year’s World Cup in France.
Previous attempts to repair a dislocation of the finger had resulted in a severe infection.
He broke the finger in a Super 14 match against the Auckland Blues in round 6 and initial efforts to hold the finger in place and fix the joint left it infected. He dislocated it again at training ahead of the Brumbies’ round 8 clash, marking the end of his season.
