Rugby World Cup tickets on sale 9 November

The IRB has announced that open sales of tickets for individual matches of the Rugby World Cup will go on sale on the 9th November. Prices start from 10 euros.

This will include tickets for all 40 pool matches and the first allocation of tickets for the quarter-finals and Bronze Final match (third and fourth play-off). The ballot and last phase of single ticket sales for the semi-finals and Final is planned for April 2007.

Millionth Rugby World Cup ticket sold

Rugby World Cup organisers have announced that they have sold their millionth ticket just over a year before the tournament kicks off.

“One year from the kickoff of Rugby World Cup 2007 the International Rugby Board is confident the tournament will be the most successful in its colourful and exciting 20-year history,” said IRB Chairman Syd Millar in a statement.

The tournament will kick off on September 7, 2007 with France playing the opening game against Argentina at the Stade de France. The final will be played on October 20 also at the Stade de France.
